Black Disability in Resistance and Creating: Story Telling & Moore with Leroy Moore

This presentation discusses what Black disabled resistance looks & sounds like through time. This presentation will go into ancestry stories, today’s Krip-Hop stories, and cultural work worldwide through book readings, songs, visual arts, videos and podcasts.

Bio: This presentation is hosted by activist, writer, poet, rapper, womanist, and radio programmer, Leroy Moore. Leroy founded Krip-Hop Nation (a movement that addresses ableism, or discrimination against disabled artists, esp. Black musicians marginalized because of racism AND ableism internationally). For more information on Krip-Hop, please visit the Krip-Hop Nation website. He is also the former cofounder of Sins Invalid.  Moore wrote for I.D.E.A.L. Magazine, and since the 1990s, has written the column “Illin-N-Chillin” for POOR Magazine. He is also a longtime member of the National Black Disability Coalition.
