City Council to hold Cannabis Listening Sessions on September 27 & October 4
The Pasco City Council will hold two listening sessions on September 27 and October 4 to gauge the community’s thoughts on the sales of retail cannabis in the city.
Washington State Initiative 502, passed by Washington State voters in 2012, allowed the retail sales of cannabis but gave cities the flexibility to prohibit sales within their communities.
The Pasco City Council in 2014 prohibited the production, processing, retail sales, and dispensaries of cannabis.
Earlier this year, the City Council expressed interest in exploring the question of cannabis again and is considering allowing some retail sales of cannabis within Pasco. However, the
Council wants to hear from the community on this question before any decision and has scheduled two public listening sessions:
Tuesday, September 27, 6:30 pm, HAPO (TRAC) Center, 6600 Burden Boulevard
Tuesday, October 4, 6:30 pm, Pasco Police Regional Training Center, 204 W. Clark Street
In-meeting public voting and interpretation services will be provided at the sessions.
Please come and share your thoughts on cannabis sales in Pasco at these meetings. Alternatively, you can contact your City Council member via the City’s website here or the
AskPasco app.
