It was a busy day today with lots of teamwork involved! RPD officers were dispatched to a possible residential burglary in progress in north Richland.  The suspect fled in a maroon sedan as an officer arrived, but the officer was not able to pursue it.  Minutes later, reports came in that the car had crashed in the 600 block of Newcomer St. and the suspect fled on foot.  Despite a complex and lengthy effort by RPD and WRPD officers, BCSO deputies, a KPD K9, and PPD’s drone team, the suspect was not apprehended yet, but these incidents are still under investigation.  If you have information about these incidents, please contact dispatch at 509-628-0333 or visit our website to submit an anonymous tip: https://www.ci.richland.wa.us/departments/police-services.
While all our officers were tied up on this earlier call, another priority call was dispatched in south Richland about a disturbance in the 300 block of Gage Blvd.  BCSO deputies responded to that call to help until RPD officers could get there.  Deputies detained the male who was causing the disturbance and the male tried kicking out their patrol car door, thereby ensuring that he would spend the night in jail.

A big thanks to our neighboring agencies for having our backs and helping us out!
