We had the opportunity to celebrate the retirement of Officer Rick Kane after almost 22 years of dedicated service to the Richland Police Department. Before joining us at RPD, Officer Kane served as a reserve officer for almost five years at Toppenish Police Department and Yakima County Sheriff’s Office. While at RPD, Officer Kane served this community in a variety of assignments.
- Department instructor in defensive tactics and firearms

- Patrol Officer

- Field Training Officer

- OIC

- Detective

- Street Crimes Officer

- Community Services Officer

- School Resource Officer

Officer Kane finished his career as a School Resource Officer for Hanford high school, which has been the most rewarding position he has held during his career.

We would like to thank Officer Kane for his service to this community and we will miss having him in the ranks. You will always have a home here at Richland Police Department. Enjoy your retirement.
