Benton and Franklin counties recently eased COVID-19 restrictions slightly as they were approved to move to a modified Phase 1 by Secretary of Health John Wiesman and State Health Officer Kathy Lofy.
The change in phase provides greater leeway to the operation of wineries, breweries, distilleries, taverns, swimming pools, indoor retail, outdoor religious services and drive-in movie theaters, KNDO reported.
Under the eased restrictions, the state will permit drive-in movie theaters to operate, but they cannot have concessions and occupants of any vehicle are required to be from the same household, according to KNDO. The eased restrictions also permit religious services to be held outdoors under canopy cover.
Establishments serving alcohol are permitted to follow Phase 2 guidance in their operations, but are not permitted to allow indoor seating.
Staffed swimming pools will be permitted to open for lap swimming and small-group swim lessons.
Moving indoors, retailers are now permitted to operate at 25% capacity, an increase from the previously-permitted 15%, KNDO reported.
