Tri-Cities mental health experts, small business owners and leaders created a YouTube video to ask Gov. Jay Inslee to reopen businesses, a follow-up to a joint letter they sent on Nov. 15.
With revenue down 80% for some businesses, they are eager to reopen the economy and end enhanced restrictions but promised a commitment to public safety measures, YakTriNews.com reported on Dec. 7.
The 5five-minute 30-second video features community members asking for help, including mayors Don Britain of Kennewick, Saul Martinez of Pasco, Ryan Lukson of Richland, Brent Gerry of West Richland and Randy Taylor of Prosser.
Franklin County Commissioner Brad Peck and Benton County Commissioner Jerome Delvin also recorded messages in the video.
Small business owners told how their revenue has drastically been cut and forced them to make significant layoffs.
The enforced lack of activity also affects mental health disorders, and Islee was reminded this could be detrimental to people suffering from depression, anxiety and ADHD.
